- Colors / notes: Red/amber/blue not allowed on windshield sunscreening devices.

- Sticker / label: Label required (one label on driver’s side window, rearmost bottom corner).
- Medical exemptions: Yes (signed physician/optometrist statement; DPS no longer issues certificates as of 2019).

Texas note: Side windows behind the driver are exempt under the Texas Transportation Code; the rear window is unrestricted only if the vehicle has outside mirrors on both sides.
