ALASKA WINDOW TINT LAW ALLOWS

Windshield | Non-reflective tint is allowed on the top 5 inches of the windshield. |
Front Side Windows | Must allow more than a total of 70% light in. |
Back Side Windows | Must allow more than a total of 40% light in. *(MPVs allow any light transmission) |
Rear Window | Must allow more than a total of 40% light in. *(MPVs allow any light transmission) |
HOW REFLECTIVE CAN THE TINT BE ON

Front Side Windows | No metallic or mirrored appearance. |
Back Side Windows | No metallic or mirrored appearance. |
OTHER ALASKA WINDOW TINT LAW RULES

Restricted Colors | The tint colors of Red, Amber, and Yellow are not allowed by Alaska window tint law. |
Side Mirrors | No restrictions. |
Certificate Requirements | Manufacturers of film do NOT need to certify the film they sell in Alaska. |
Sticker Requirements | No sticker to identify legal tinting is required by law. |
Medical Exemption | Alaska window tint law allows medical exemptions for special tint. For more details about the specific terms of the exemption for window tinting, consult your state law. |
